Warranty
Introduction
The following information relates to warranties offered by OPUS®. Please read all the information carefully, and should you have any questions relating to any aspect of this section, please contact OPUS®. By purchasing an item from OPUS®, you hereby agree to all terms and conditions of warranty as set out herein.

OPUS® will always deal with warranty claims reasonably and in good faith
Validity of Claims
- Warranties are valid to the original purchaser of the item in question and apply from the original date of purchase.
- Warranties apply to items sold as “new” and do not extend to items sold via auction, or deemed to be “factory seconds”, “ex-demonstration” or “damaged” unless specifically stated otherwise by OPUS® in writing. (See details later in this document.)
- Warranties are not transferable. Also, if the original purchaser sells an item to a third party, the original purchaser cannot make any claims on behalf of the new owner.
- Warranties do not apply to products used in hire schemes or as rentals.
OPUS® does not cover damage due to unauthorised modifications, misuse, abuse, incorrect assembly, improper and irregular maintenance, or accident or collision. - Any work performed under an authorised warranty claim approved by OPUS® must be performed by OPUS®, or an authorised representative of OPUS®, and only with the express written permission of OPUS®.
- Affiliates, representatives, associates, agents, suppliers, resellers or similar of OPUS® shall have no authority to authorise or deny warranty claims on behalf of OPUS®.
- OPUS® shall not be liable (in part or whole) for any warranties, either express or implied, made by agents or resellers on behalf of OPUS® without the knowledge or express written permission of OPUS®. Such unauthorised claims shall be the responsibility of the agent or reseller only.
Camper Trailers
Unless stated otherwise, trailers are covered by a 12 month limited manufacturer’s warranty from the original date of purchase. In addition, there are 5 Year warranties on the suspension and the structure of the trailer. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
OPUS® Campers are designed for use on any road or track that is trafficable to normal four-wheel-drive vehicles.
OPUS® Campers can be exposed to water crossings where the water is below body floor level, but never where the water is at, or above, body floor level.
The following items are not covered under the OPUS® warranty:
- Impact or stone damage to body, chassis or running gear
- Soiling of fabrics and internal fitments from dust and other airborne substances
- Water damage due to water crossings
- Movement or damage caused by dislodgment of appliances and fittings resulting from hard impact or heavy landings or severely rutted roads or tracks
- General damage arising from misuse
- Rust
- Wheels and Tyres
- Paint
- General consumables such as bearings, light fittings, batteries etc
- Wear and tear when the trailer has been used for permanent living purposes
OPUS® includes equipment and fittings, such as accessory brand cookers or pumps, which are separately warranted by their manufacturer and not covered by the OPUS® Warranty. If necessary, OPUS® will help an owner make a warranty claim to these manufacturers.
In addition to the express OPUS® warranty, the consumer may also be covered by other rights and remedies of the Australian Consumer Law in relation to the goods and or services to which this warranty relates.
Tents
Tents are guaranteed to be in new merchantable condition at the time of purchase. A limited manufacturer’s warranty period of 3 Years applies to OPUS® canvas components, poles and fittings, air beams and valves. General wear and tear excepted. Zips and mesh or screens are not covered.
Factory Seconds, Ex-Demonstration and Damaged Goods
From time to time, Set Up Camp may offer for sale ex-demonstration or second hand campers.
All ex-demonstration and second hand campers will be sold on an as is basis and include a 12 month dealer backed warranty. In the sale of such items, Set Up Camp will attempt to provide all relevant information regarding the item, including faults, defects, or similar, however, there may be instances where minor defects or imperfections have been overlooked. This is purely unintentional and in no way alters the nature of the sale.
Due to the nature of such items, being “ex-demonstration”, “factory seconds” or “damaged”, it is reasonable to expect that some imperfections or flaws may exist even where it is not initially apparent. By purchasing such an item, you agree to this statement and accept that to the extent permitted by law there are no warranties implied or expressed. To the extent any warranty implied by law cannot be excluded, then you acknowledge and agree that Set Up Camp’s sole remedy will, at Set Up Camp’s sole discretion, repair the defect or replace the defective part.
The 12 month dealer warranty excludes:
- Impact or stone damage to body, chassis or running gear

- Movement or damage caused by dislodgment of appliances and fittings resulting from hard impact or heavy landings or severely rutted roads or tracks
- General damage arising from misuse

- Wear and tear when the trailer has been used for permanent living purposes
- Any damage or defect caused by your failure to properly service or maintain the camper
Goods Bought at Auction
From time to time, OPUS®, may offer items for auction, either independently or via a third party. Whilst every effort will be made to provide all relevant information regarding the item on auction, as per Australian law, any goods bought at auction subsequently do not carry any statutory warranty. Goods sold at auction, by or on behalf of OPUS®, shall carry no warranty unless specifically stated in writing.
Star Vision provides a 5-year structural warranty (covering the drawbar and chassis only) and a 1-year general & parts warranty which covers mechanical/electrical issues, toolbox/storage box, suspension, shocks & springs, batteries, wiring, battery charger and inverters. General wear and tear and any misused items are not covered as part of the 1-year general warranty.
The 5-year structural & 1-year general & parts warranties apply to all campers and caravan models manufactured from 2017 onward. All warranties begin from the date of customer pickup or delivery.

Warranties are not transferable. Under no circumstances should warranty repairs be carried out by any third party unless approved by Star Vision Campers & Caravans or their representatives. Please call the showroom you purchased your camper from to discuss ANY warranty claim before proceeding. Thank you.
- Warranties are voided if any of the following has taken place: customization, modifications, unauthorized and incorrect assembly; accidents, collision and abuse.
- Warranties are only valid to the original purchaser and may not be transferred to another party.
- Warranties are voided if the camper trailer or caravan is purchased for the use of rental, on loan or commercial use.
- Warranties only apply to items sold as “NEW” or “DEMO”. Items sold via auctions and third parties are not covered by our warranties.
- Only Star Vision Campers & Caravans or their representatives have the authority to accept warranty claims. Suppliers, resellers, associates, and representatives not affiliated with the company cannot approve any warranty claims for Star Vision without its prior knowledge and permission.
- Any warranty claims must be returned to your nearest dealership or reseller for inspection before proceeding unless it is impractical due to being in a remote location. In this case, you must contact the showroom you purchased your camper from to discuss possible alternatives.
- If the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) has been removed or altered, warranty claims will be voided.
- Once the camper trailer or caravan is dispatched from the showroom the customer is aware that this is the date that warranties commence.
- The camper trailer is not dust proof, so any dust damage is not covered under warranty.
- All warranty claims must have an invoice number and the correct information from the buyer. Any incorrect information may cause rejection of your claim.
- Towing, transport, accommodation and any other recovery cost from warranty claims are the responsibility of the purchaser unless otherwise stated in handwriting or by email from Star Vision’s management team.
- Warranty repairs may take up to one month or longer before depending on parts availability and workshop schedule.
- Star Vision provides a service maintenance schedule for a fee of $250 per service (not including parts) outside of warranty period.
Returns
- Returns can only be done if the item is significantly different from what was described in correspondence from Star Vision.
- Any customisation or personalised modifications applied to the camper trailer or caravan will void any return policy.
- A deposit is only refundable subject to finance not being approved or other special circumstances as determined by Star Vision Campers & Caravans.
- You are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund for major failure under warranty, but the trailer must be fully inspected by the appropriate Star Vision staff.
- Star Vision cannot accept returns for items where we have not been notified by the customer within 48 hours of receiving the goods, and we cannot accept return of items which have been used.
- All items will incur return fees that are associated with that particular item. This means that you will have to pay the postage costs to return the item back to us. These costs will not be refunded to you.
- Refunds will be made once the items have been received, checked and a confirmation email will be sent to you advising the refund status.

Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd warrants the original purchaser that for a period of 12 months from the purchase date the manufacture and assembly of the caravan carried out by Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd will be free from defects in workmanship.
This warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable to a subsequent customer if the caravan is sold by the original purchaser in the warranty period.
If a defect related to the manufacture and/or assembly of the caravan appears during the warranty period and Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd finds the caravan to be defective, Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd will in its sole discretion, either
(a) Replace or repair the caravan or defective part of the caravan free of charge, or
(b) Authorize the caravan or defective part of the caravan to be replaced or repaired by a qualified repairer free of charge.
Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd reserves the right to replace defective parts of the caravan with parts of similar quality, grade and composition where an identical part or component is not available.
If a fault covered by this warranty occurs, the customer must first contact Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd. Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd will then, either agree to repair the defects at their factory or will authorize, in writing for a qualified repairer to carry out the work.
Any repairs/replacements which are carried out without/prior to written authorization from Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd will immediately void this warranty and the customer will not be reimbursed by Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd for these works.
Any warranty claim must be accompanied by;
(a) Proof of purchase
(c) Appropriate documentation if applicable
(b) Full details of the alleged defects as well as supporting photos if applicable
The customer must make the Caravan available to Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd or its authorized repairer for inspection and testing. If the inspection and testing finds no defect in the caravan which is covered by this warranty, the customer will be responsible for the costs of service work, evaluation and testing.
The customer must bear the cost of the transport of the caravan to and from Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd or the authorized repair agent to make the warranty claim.
This warranty does not apply to the followings:
- Chassis, brakes, tyres and appliances which are not manufactured by Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd. Please contact the relevant manufacturer as they may provide their own warranty. All warranties relating to appliances which have been provided to Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd will be provided to the customer with the caravan.
- Any defect resulting from overloading, extreme off road damage to off road models, normal wear and tear (including impact and stone damage), immersion of the caravan in water, misuse, negligence, accident or other defect caused beyond the direct control of Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd.
- Any defect resulting from the installation of any accessories or options after the caravan has left the premises of Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd.
- Any defect arisen due to the customer/user’ failure to properly use and maintain the caravan in accordance with any of Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd’or Dealers’instructions and recommendations.
- Any consequential damages or repair work necessitated due to continued usage or towing afer a defect has, or should have become apparent to the purchaser or user.
- Any liability for consequential loss, such as but not limited to inconvenience, loss of use of your caravan,loss of time, disrupted travel plans, expenses for accommodation, petrol, telephone, loss or damage to personal property, loss of earning or rent are expressly excluded.
- Deterioration/exposure to the elements or damage due to natural causes. goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure”
This warranty will not apply where:
- Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd is not notified of an existing or alleged defect during the warranty period.
- The caravan has been or is being used for rental hire or commercial use.
- The caravan has been altered, modified or repaired by someone other than Hilltop Caravans Pty Ltd or authorized repairer
- The alleged defect is within standard industry variances.

3 years on the caravan. The appliances are standard 1 year warranty.
